Completed Project: Dungeness Valley Creamery During the last
two years, Friends of the Fields effectively doubled the acreage
of farmland placed under agricultural conservation
easements—from 74 acres in the organization’s first six years,
to 151 acres now. Dungeness Valley Creamery - 32 Acres - 2006-2008 The second grant Friends of the Fields secured, $350,000 for the 32- acre Dungeness Valley Creamery owned by Jeff and Debbie Brown, was matched by successful fundraising efforts, supported by many generous individual donations and the North Olympic Land Trust. The Dungeness Creamery easement is in the final legal stages for completion. This family farm is one of only a few raw-milk dairies in Washington State. The Brown family milks about 50 Jersey cows and sells the milk throughout western Washington. Some of their milk makes its way into the wonderful Mount Townsend cheeses from Port Townsend. Please join us to preserve Finn Hall Farm. Make a contribution to Friends of the Fields today. 151 total acres of productive farmland protected in perpetuity! |
