Friends of the Fields' Mission

To preserve and protect sustainable agriculture in Clallam County, Washington, ensuring the availability of local food and the quality of life that our rural setting provides.

Friends of the Fields' Campaign to Protect Finn Hall Farm is SUCCESSFUL!

After a three-year campaign, and several grant applications to both state and federal governments, Friends of the Fields was told in early May that its application to the federal Farm and Ranch Lands Protection Program (FRLPP) for $853,853 was accepted and will be funded. The same day, it was informed that the Washington State deadline for matching an $869,000 grant was extended, so with both grants in place, and agreement from the Jarvis family, we can confidently say that the beautiful 60-acre Finn Hall Farm will be protected for agriculture in perpetuity!

Residential development is replacing farmland at the rate of 1,000 acres every year. And, once developed, the land is gone forever. Read More...

In the ten years since Friends of the Fields became a nonprofit organization the Land Trust’s mission focus has expanded to include farmland preservation. This overlapping aspect of the missions of the two organizations is the foundation that underpins the merger. The new organization is stronger than either working alone. Read More...
